Former editor of The Stranger. I started working at the paper in 2015, covering books and national politics. I became the editor in 2022 and served in that role until we experienced an ownership change in 2024.

Before journalism, I taught creative writing, literature, and composition as a visiting professor and/or grad student at the University of Central Missouri, the University of Washington, and Ohio University.
